A rythm that sounded like a drum pounding in the middle of the forest was heard. Paws, one after another in a pattern moved faster and faster. It stopped as the leaped off the ground, then landed with a big thump and they laded again. The silver tabby lifted her head with a vole in her mouth. It was her first catch of the day. Silverpool purred in amusement and began to burry her prey.

The lean-muscled she-cat padded quietly through the forest, her steps light and soft as she padded through the forest. Her head was raised, midnight eyes scanning the forest for any sign of movement. Prey. Cat. Twoleg. Anything. Her ears stood erect atop her head as they swiveled backwards, to the right, the left, and finally back to the front. Her shorter-than-average tail swung lightly behind her, the tip pointing back the wayshe had come.
She heard the rush of pawsteps, silence, then a loud thump as something landed on the forest floor. No doubt a rodent or a bird had just fallen victim to on of WhisperClan's warriors. Most likely a rodent as there was no rush of wings or chirp of alarm. Then again, any skilled hunter would kill the bird before it noticed the cat stalking it.
Her shoulder muscles rolled back as she relaxed them from their tense state. Her mind wandered and as the thought of prey crossed her mind, her stomach gave a small growl of indignation at being forgotten. She swiped her tongue around her mouth, hiding her midnight eyes from view for a heartbeat as she tasted salt. A single tear rolled down the path of salt on her left cheeks. She turned her head and wiped the tear off on her shoulder, blinking to be sure no more would follow. Prey was needed. It was not time to dwell on the past.
